How Do I Enable Third Party Cookies in Supported Browsers?

If you don’t allow third-party cookies or local storage usage by third-party apps, you will have trouble using some 55 Degrees products, such as ActionableAgile.

Enable Third-Party Cookies in

Google Chrome

Chrome treats cookies and local storage as the same thing, so these steps work for both.

  1. On your computer, open Google Chrome.

  2. From the top right, select the three vertical dots and then Settings. This will open a web page, Settings.

  3. In the left hand navigation, select Privacy and Security, then Cookies and other site data.

  4. On the Cookies and other site data page, make sure that:

    1. the Block third-party cookies setting is not checked

    2. the option to Clear cookies and site data when you quit Chrome is toggled off

  5. If you would prefer to leave those items checked,

    1. click the Add button next to the option for Sites that can always use cookies.

    2. In the Add a site popup window, add the necessary app-specific URL(s) and click Add.

Firefox

  1. Select the three vertical lines in the top right corner, and select Preferences.

  2. In the right hand menu, select Privacy & Security. This is where you can view your settings for Enhanced Tracking Protection, which includes cookies.

Manage sites that are blocked from setting cookies

  1. Click the Menu button (three horizontal lines) and select Preferences.

  2. Select the Privacy & Security panel and scroll down to the Cookies and Site Data section.

  3. Click Manage Permissions….

    • The Exceptions - Cookies and Site Data dialog box that opens will show you which sites you have blocked from storing cookies.

  4. Make sure the site you're trying to access isn't listed.

    • If it is listed, click on its entry, then click Remove Website.

  5. Close the about:preferences page. Any changes you've made will automatically be saved.

Microsoft Edge

To help protect your privacy, the new Microsoft Edge sets tracking prevention to balanced by default. For increased protection, you can switch your tracking prevention to strict or block all third-party cookies. Sometimes, these privacy protections might cause parts of sites to not work correctly.  Follow these instructions to allow third-party cookies:

  1. Open Microsoft Edge, select Menu (3 dots icon on top right corner of the browser) > Settings > Site permissions > Cookies and site data

  2. Turn on "Allow sites to save and read cookie data (recommended)" to unblock cookies

  3. Turn on "Block third-party cookies" or add desired sites in "Block" section to block the cookies.

Safari

As of Safari 13.1, third party cookies are blocked by default. For more information, visit Webkit's article: Full Third-Party Cookie Blocking and More.  We are recommending that Safari users enable third party cookies at this time.

Safari treats cookies and local storage as the same thing, so these steps work for both.

  1. Open Safari. In the app menu at top left, click on Safari -> Preferences from the drop down menu.

  2. Navigate to the Privacy Tab

    1. Make sure "Prevent cross-site tracking" is unchecked.

    2. Make sure that “Block all cookies” is unchecked

  3. If you have content blockers enabled, please disable them for any URLs related to the product you are trying to use. The image below shows content blockers disabled just for ActionableAgile Analytics.
