Sharing Data Sets in Jira

Sharing is here We're so happy to be able to share this with you, and we want to make sure you're able to share your data sets with ease.

To share data sets in Jira Cloud, the Jira Admin needs to enable this feature from the Apps area located in your Jira Cloud instance. See details here.

A Step-by-Step Guide To Sharing Your Data Sets

Navigate to the Data Set drop-down menu in ActionableAgile .

Select Find or Manage a Data Set.

The dropdown option previously known as “Find a Data Set.”

On the Data Set you wish to share, navigate to the Share Data Set symbol and select it.

In the Manage Permissions window, type the names of those you wish to be Admins and Viewers in the respective boxes.

If you are not the owner or admin of a data set, you won’t be able to share, edit or delete it.

When you have added all the names you wish to in the correct boxes, select close and your data sets will have been shared!

If you want to manage permissions again, just select the sharing button again on your chosen data set to get back to the Manage Permissions window.

To see data sets that have been shared with you, navigate to the drop-down menu in Find and Manage Data Sets and select “Shared With Me”.

You’ve shared your first data set

We hope the experience was simple and easy, and may you share many more data-sets to come! Thanks for sharing with us!

Enabling Sharing in Jira Cloud

The main difference between sharing data sets in Jira Cloud and Data Center/Server is that a Jira Admin needs to enable the feature in Cloud as some data needs to be stored. Find out more.

To enable sharing data sets for ActionableAgile in Jira Cloud, navigate to the Apps page in your Jira Cloud instance and select Configurations under ActionableAgile Analytics.

Located within the ActionableAgile Configurations window will be an option to toggle data set sharing on and off. Select the toggle to enable data set sharing.

When this has been enabled, navigate back to ActionableAgile to be greeted with the confirmation that sharing has been enabled.

All users will receive this pop-up after they load ActionableAgile when you have enabled it. The pop-up will link to this documentation so they can learn how to share data sets.
