Release Notes

This document contains the ActionableAgile for Jira - Agile Metrics release notes for the current year. In the interest of brevity - the change log is limited to the main features and major issues that are released. Minor bugs and minor improvements may not be listed.

ActionableAgile® Analytics for Jira Data Center – Ongoing Support

  • We will continue supporting Jira Data Center customers until Atlassian’s end-of-life timeline.

  • Core updates (charts, insights, calculations, etc.) will continue to be delivered.

  • Platform-dependent features that require heavy Data Center–specific work will be evaluated case by case. Some may be Cloud-only going forward (e.g., Jira dashboard gadgets).

  • Upcoming improvements you’ll still receive on Data Center:

    • App landing page

    • Data set views

    • Consistent chart templates

    • Expanded chart insights

Jira Cloud

June 11th, 2026 - 8.2.0 -> 8.3.0 Build 232

  • We’ve implemented the option for users to choose their own week start date in the Settings menu. This will be reflected on the Cycle Time Scatterplot and Throughput Run Chart.

  • We’ve implemented a new simulation control on Monte Carlo: When so you can now forecasts in days, weeks and months.

  • We’ve made it so the Rate Lines persist after zooming in on the CFD.

  • We fixed a bug where Work Mix using the first custom column by import order not the column name.

  • We fixed a bug where the Work Mix colours were not always in the same order independent of Work Item Type.

  • We fixed a bug where the Story Points numerical field sorted alphabetically instead of numerically in Item Filter and Heat Map.

  • We’ve added Chart Macros to Confluence which allow you to add live, read-only ActionableAgile® Analytics flow metrics directly to Confluence pages. Stay effortlessly up-to-date on your reports, retrospectives, status updates, and summaries without the need for manual screenshots.

April 15th, 2026 - Version bump from 6 > 7

  • We’ve added our very first Insight “Work Mix” to the Throughput Run Chart which makes it easier than ever to identify key points of interest in your data.

  • We fixed a bug where there was a discrepancy is forecast results when using the Data Range versus the Visible Period.

  • We fixed a bug where Views were not working for newly created data sets.

March 30, 2026 - Version bump from 5 > 6

  • We fixed a bug where favourites were not being saved.

  • We fixed a bug where users with Viewer permissions had Admin rights. .

March 18, 2026 - 5.0.0 -> 5.1.0

  • We’ve added Ideal WIP Global Control Component. Read about it here.

  • We’ve updated the Data Range picker with Static and Rolling date selection. Read about it here.

  • We fixed a bug where the cycle time scatterplot and throughout histogram would show different values for same date range.

  • We also released some backend improvements.

  • We fixed a bug that prevented data sets from being visible to users after upgrading the app.

  • We’ve added a new chart - the Work Item Age Run Chart! This chart shows you how much aging risk you’re carrying over time, read all about it here!

January 15, 2026 - Version bump from 3 > 4

  • We’ve updated the UI on some of our charts - Process Behaviour Chart.

  • We fixed a bug where it was not possible to reset the Date Range.

  • We fixed a bug where the dashboard was missing a space between the first and second area.

December 11, 2025

  • We’ve updated the UI on some of our charts - Flow Efficiency Chart, Cumulative Flow Diagram, Heat Map, Source Data and the Monte Carlo: How Many and When.

  • We fixed a bug where it was not possible to reset the Date Range.

  • We fixed a bug where completed work items items without a resolution were missing.

December 4, 2025

  • We’ve updated the UI on some of our charts - Throughput Run Chart, WIP Run Chart, Cycle Time Histogram and Throughput Histogram, as well as the calendar on the Monte Carlo: When.

  • We’ve updated our terminology to reflect Atlassian’s new terms.

  • We’ve updated the UI on some of our charts - Dashboard, Aging WIP and Cycle Time Scatterplot.

  • We’ve converted the Date Range into Visible Period so it now affects all work items instead of just finished ones. 

  • We’ve updated the chart links to direct users to the correct version-specific guide. 

  • We fixed a bug where the Moving Average on the TRC was inaccurate for the initial N point.

We fixed two bugs for the Jira Dashboard gadgets:

  • When changing the dataset used, the name of the view did not update in the dropdown.

  • Dashboard gadgets didn’t stop loading the chart.

These handy gadgets let you share live, actionable insights with your team and stakeholders, all without the hassle of extra logins or manual exports.

  • We added an error message for when users try to load a data set that was missing.

  • We allowed our backend build to be visible in the app to ease troubleshooting.

  • We fixed a bug where some users were unable to interact with the app as the filter expression exceeded its allowed length.

  • We fixed a bug where certain data sets were not being displayed correctly.

  • We fixed a bug where the Global Date Range did not persist when changing charts.

  • We fixed a bug where the link to ActionableAgile Analytics on Forge did not appear under Projects.

September 4, 2025

  • We’ve transitioned ActionableAgile® Analytics from Atlassian’s older Connect framework to the new Forge platform, improving performance, security, and features. This requires new scopes (permissions) that a site admin in Jira Cloud must manually approve. Without approval, the app will remain unsupported and may lose functionality. Here’s how to upgrade.

  • We fixed a bug that caused a discrepancy in the Monte Carlo forecasting when using the Date Range instead of the Selected Data.

  • We fixed a bug where the app was no longer recorgnising blocked time.

  • We fixed a bug where some users could not access specific data sets.

  • We’ve introduced deep linking, allowing users to share URLs that specify which data set to load.

  • We’ve made UI/UX improvements.

June 10, 2025

  • We fixed a bug where the tooltip in the Monte Carlo When chart did not respect the date format.

  • We fixed a bug where the Cumulative Flow Diagram was including an additional day, causing it to slope downward.

  • We fixed a bug where saved views were disappearing when users reloaded their dataset.

  • We fixed a bug where the app would crash if a column ID was missing.

  • We’ve removed the arbitrary limit of only allowing 10 favourited data sets.

  • We’ve introduced Views to Beta! Users can now save their dataset configurations.

  • We’ve made some improvements to our UI.

  • We’ve updated the Dashboard with a fresh look.

  • We’ve changed the Dashboards Pace chart to show only months.

  • We updated ‘Find and manage datasets’ so that all datasets are sorted by name in alphabetical order.

  • We fixed a bug where the shared icons remained even if all viewers and admins were removed.

  • We fixed a bug where a file exported as CSV from ActionableAgile could’t be uploaded through the external file loader.

  • We fixed an issue where status name changes (like renaming “Completed” to “Done”) were not properly recognized, causing completed items to be misclassified as in progress after merging workflow columns.

  • We updated so that you will not see datasets you created and own under "Shared With Me".

  • We fixed a bug where the external data loader would crash because of a column count mismatch.

  • We fixed a bug where the external data loader would crash when reading a file with identical column names.

  • We fixed a bug where certain file types were causing the wrong date formats in the external data loader.

  • We updated our error messaging for when a user does not have permission to load a data set.

  • We updated the external data loader to allow all file types to be uploaded or pulled via URL.

  • We updated the external data loader to allow date formats of single digits.

  • We added the ability to disable certain default fields.

  • We added the ability to filter by relative dates when creating a data set.

  • We fixed a bug in which adding a field into a shared data set did not persist when reloading the data set.

  • We now remove commas from the summary before exporting the data as CSV, which was causing formatting issues.

  • We fixed a bug in which fields would be treated as workflow stages.

  • We fixed a bug where the app did not handle loading minimal data correctly.

  • We fixed a bug where the filters did not update correctly, causing inaccurate rendering on charts.

  • We fixed a bug where workflow stages were not updating after being edited.

  • We fixed a bug where exported data sets could not be re-uploaded if they contained commas.

  • We’ve introduced additional display options for Stalled Items in the Aging Work In Progress Chart.

  • We fixed a bug where some charts did not change after choosing a date selection.

  • We fixed a bug where the pre-made dates for the Date Range did not stack correctly.

  • Say hello to our new external file loader! We’ve revamped it to make your external file-loading experience easier and more customisable. Read about it here.

  • We’ve introduced a new chart control, the Date Range. This will allow you to look at specific date ranges for completed items across all charts.

  • We fixed a bug where blocked time was not calculated correctly.

  • We fixed a bug that prevented users from selecting attributes in the Item Filter that used square brackets [ ].

  • We fixed a bug where the tooltip was illegible on the Process Behaviour Chart in Dark Mode.

  • We fixed a bug where the calculation for the System WIP on the Cumulative Flow Charts Tooltip didn’t include the first checked workflow stage.

  • We fixed a bug that prevented you from picking past dates for the Simulation Control in the Monte Carlo: How Many chart.

  • We fixed a bug where if the app did not initialise with Products Fruits correctly, users could not select it from the drop-down menus.

  • We improved the performance of loading shared data sets.

  • We’ve removed the ability to see users outside your instance when adding admins and viewers to your data set.

  • We fixed a bug where users could not favourite a data set that was shared with them.

  • We fixed a bug where statuses were duplicating in the workflow mapping stage.

  • We fixed a bug where the Cycle Time Dashboard Widget showed incorrect data due to change log issues and different browsers.

  • We fixed a bug in which text would not wrap correctly when using Safari

  • We fixed the contrast of selected areas on dark mode as they were hard to see

  • We fixed the date control chart on the WIP Runchart as it would add one day to the selection

  • We fixed a bug on the CFD in which the dialog box would only show up to 7 workflow stages

  • We fixed a calculation bug on the Dashboard Pace Chart High Start Data; the last value was incorrect

  • We fixed a bug in which a selection made on the date control chart would not be saved when changing charts

  • We fixed a bug in which the item filter was overlapping the app header

  • We fixed a bug that prevented carts from showing blocked day details

July 3rd, 2024

  • We fixed the contrast between the text and background in dark mode.

  • We fixed a bug in the total age calculations on the Dashboard.

  • We fixed a bug in which external files were not loading correctly due to the date format being DD/MM/YYYY. Any files exported from the app will now follow the format YYYY-MM-DD.

This release brings a long-awaited feature: Shared Data Sets

In this release:

  • Users will be able to share data sets they have created with other users and groups in Jira.

  • People you share data sets with will be able to find them easily via search and see who the owner and admins of any given data set are.

We are no longer treating ActionableAgile as a project report but as an app in the apps menu or project navigation. However, as some people may be used to going to the reports area to navigate to ActionableAgile, we are temporarily showing a message with the correct link and asking users to update their bookmarks.

Bug fixes:

  • In some situations, the data loader was having issues merging multiple statuses with the same name. This has been resolved.

  • We fixed some spacing issues in the new “Find a Data Set” screen and have renamed the dialog to “Find or Manage a Data Set.” Soon the dropdown option will be updated to match.
