Views

Views are here 🎉

We're thrilled to bring you this new feature, allowing you to save and share your various dataset configurations in ActionableAgile® Analytics. Save your favorite configuration as a View and access them anytime with just a click!

Where to find Views

Your Views are located under the Chart Controls, in the top right corner of the app.

What is a View?

A View contains global and chart-specific control configurations you need to look at the data through a specific lens.

It allows a way to save all settings relevant to the dataset:

  • Global Chart Controls (item filters, workflow stage, date range)

  • Individual Chart Controls (chart-specific controls, filters, workflow stage)

  • Any other shared configuration settings

Basic view

The basic view is the view shown when a data set is initially loaded and is available even after other Views are created.

This view cannot be edited. If you make changes you want to save, while in the Basic view, you can do so by creating a new view.

How to use Views

To apply a view to the dataset:

  1. Go to the chart controls in the right side panel of the app.

  2. Click the ‘Select View’ dropdown. This will show a list of the views for the current dataset.

  3. Click the desired view. It will be applied immediately.

Only dataset Admins can Create a new view

To create a new view:

  1. Start with setting up your chart controls in the desired way.

  2. Go to the ‘Selected view’ and select ‘Create a new view’. This will open a pop-up window.

  3. Give the view a name and description (optional), then press ‘Create’.

The new view will be a copy of the view you were on when you clicked ‘Create a new view’.

Permissions of Views

When a dataset is shared, both admins and viewers of the dataset will have access to see all the views of that dataset. How do I share a dataset?

When a view is created, the creator will be stored as the owner and will thus have Admin rights to that view.

Dataset Admins and the owner of a view can:

  • Create a new view

  • Edit a view

  • Delete a view

Viewers can only see the views.
They cannot edit, delete or create new views for that dataset.

Edit a View

Only dataset Admins can Edit views

Once a view has been created, it can easily be edited.

How to edit a view:

  1. Make sure the view you want to edit is the selected one (currently applied view)

  2. Make the changes you want in the chart controls

  3. Click the ‘Selected view’ and press ‘Save’ in the dropdown

When changes are made to the current view, the label ‘Edited’ appears next to the view name in the dropdown.

In addition to the ability to save the changes, you can also reset them.

How to reset changes to a view:

Just click the ‘Selected view’ and press ‘Reset’ in the dropdown.
